So, how did XO, Kitty season 2 end? Here's everything to know about the Netflix series' final moments and the fate of Kitty's love life.
How did season 2 of XO, Kitty end?
Throughout season 2, the KISS students gear up for a high-stakes talent showcase orchestrated by Min Ho’s wealthy and famous father, Young Moon (Philippe Lee), who has also become a professor at the school. The grand prize? A substantial cash award and the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join Mr. Moon and his “favorite son,” Joon Ho (Peniel Shin), on their summer tour.
In the end, it's Eunice (Han Bi Ryu), Dae's sort-of-girlfriend, who wins the contest, thanks to Kitty's clever plan to stop Min Ho's new girlfriend from sabotaging the competition or damaging Mr. Moon’s reputation.
Meanwhile, Kitty has recently uncovered the truth about her mom’s time at KISS and learns that she had been working to reunite their family in South Korea before she died. After some help from Min Ho, she successfully gets the family reunion she had been waiting for — which also includes a cameo from her oldest sister Margot Song Covey (Janel Parrish)!
In the final moments of XO, Kitty season 2, Kitty finds Min Ho to share some exciting news with him. As she's trying to make sense of her newfound feelings for him, he reveals he'll be joining his family on tour — prompting Kitty to boldly ask if she can come along, too.
Who is Stella — and why was she trying to blackmail Min Ho's family?
Season 2 introduced Kitty's new roommate Stella (Audrey Huynh), whose real name is Esther and who is not at all who she presents herself to be. After asking Kitty to help set them up, Stella and Min Ho begin dating — but it's all a ploy for her to seek revenge on Mr. Moon after he embarrassed her in a singing competition years ago.
After getting close to Min Ho, Stella plants secret microphones to gather blackmail material against Mr. Moon and launches MoonLeaks, an anonymous Instagram account dedicated to exposing his lawsuits, NDAs, problematic behavior and hair plugs.
By the end of the season, Kitty has been on to Stella's scheme for some time but backs off when it upsets Min Ho, who tells her that she already broke his heart once. Plus, Kitty can no longer tell if her instincts are fact-based or coming from a place of jealousy.
Soon after, Min Ho puts the truth together himself. But when he confronts Stella about it, she threatens to ruin his family's empire by leaking the news that Joon Ho impregnated his backup dancer — and frame Kitty for MoonLeaks.
After convincing Min Ho to help her get last-minute entry to the competition — the one in which Dae wants to win so he can help pay his dad's medical bills — Stella tries to sabotage all of the other contestants. But, Kitty won't go down without a fight.
Kitty helps Min Ho come clean to his dad about Stella's scheme, and Joon Ho shows up explaining that he actually wants to marry the backup dancer, which gives Kitty the idea to replace Stella's performance with a surprise engagement. Thus, Mr. Moon has Stella removed from the competition and apologizes for having hurt her in the past.
In his final interaction with Stella, Min Ho asks her if any part of their relationship was real. She admits that in the beginning, it was just for revenge, but that she did end up developing feelings for him. However, Stella said she could always tell that his heart wasn't fully in it.
Who is Simon — and how did Kitty make her family reunion happen?
In season 1, Kitty discovered that her mother had been in contact with a man named Simon during her time at KISS. Initially believing he might have been a romantic interest, Kitty soon learns in season 2 that Simon was actually her mother’s cousin. After finding a tape in a time capsule from her mom's days at KISS, Kitty discovers that her mom actually came to South Korea to solve some family matters of her own.
Years earlier, Kitty’s grandmother had moved to the U.S., leaving her sister behind in South Korea after a betrayal caused them to lose contact. Before Kitty’s mom passed away, she had been working with her cousin Simon to reunite their mothers.
Determined to finish what her mom started, Kitty tracks down her relatives and sets off on a road trip to Bukjeon, with Min Ho joining for support. When Kitty arrives at the address, she’s met with two shocking revelations: her relatives are professional matchmakers — and they want nothing to do with her.
Feeling defeated, Kitty gets a pep talk from Min Ho, who reminds her of her relentless spirit and determination. With his encouragement, Kitty tries again. This time, thanks to Min Ho’s charm and translation — and a surprise visit from Yuri, whom Kitty's cousin recognizes — Kitty's relatives hear her out.
Eventually, her great-aunt agrees to a reunion, and with help from her sister Margot, they convince their grandmother to make the journey to South Korea. When a last-minute flight cancellation threatens to derail their plans, Min Ho steps in to save the day by offering his family's private jet.
Margot and their grandmother touch down in South Korea, culminating in Kitty finally getting the family reunion of her dreams.
What happened between Kitty and Yuri?
At the end of season 1, Kitty’s feelings for Yuri lead her to break up with Dae. However, Yuri is happily in a relationship with Juliana (Regan Aliyah), and when the two become Kitty’s new suitemates at the start of season 2, moving on proves especially difficult — even with the arrival of Kitty's new romantic interest, Praveena (Sasha Bashin).
Juliana grows suspicious of Yuri and Kitty’s budding friendship — and with good reason. After a heated argument between Yuri and Juliana and an emotional viewing of their mothers' time capsule tape, Yuri and Kitty share a kiss. Their moment is cut short when Min Ho walks in, announcing it’s time to leave for their big ski trip, on which both Juliana and Praveena will also be present.
Upon their arrival at the cabin, Yuri chalks their kiss up to being "confused" and getting "caught up in the moment." She tells Kitty that she is in love with Juliana and asks her to keep their romantic moment between them.
However, the secretly malicious Stella stirs up drama by revealing a love note Kitty had written for Yuri long ago — one that her sister convinced her to write as a "goodbye letter" (just like in To All The Boys I've Loved Before!) and was never meant to be shared. The revelation shocks everyone on the trip, leading Praveena to pack her bags and Juliana to break up with Yuri.
As Yuri works to get Juliana back, she decides to distance herself from Kitty, who is hurt at the way she instantly shuts her out of her life. Over time, however, the two reconcile after Yuri helps convince Kitty's cousin — who is a fan of Yuri's online content — to stop ghosting her.
By the end of the season, Yuri and Kitty are on good terms as friends, and Yuri is still trying to reunite with Juliana. But in the final episode, she learns that her ex-girlfriend has moved on and is now dating Praveena.
Where do Kitty and Min Ho stand?
After Min Ho confessed his love for Kitty on the plane ride to Los Angeles at the end of the first semester, she turned him down. As Min Ho explains to Kitty, she broke his heart, leading him to jump into a "rebound relationship" with Stella.
Although things are tense between them at first, Kitty and Min Ho grow closer as friends over the course of the season. Min Ho becomes a source of support for Kitty as she navigates the fallout from the ski trip love letter debacle. Their bond deepens, and during a slow dance at the Cherry Blossom Ball, Kitty realizes she’s developed feelings for Min Ho along the way.
In the final episode, both help each other resolve big family challenges. Kitty helped him come clean to his dad and work around Stella's blackmail scheme, while Min Ho helped orchestrate her family reunion.
Later, Q (Anthony Keyvan) points out their undeniable connection, telling Kitty that they "clearly have some epic thing going on." This pushes Kitty to open up about her fears, admitting she’s terrified that Min Ho might no longer feel the same way.
In the final scene, Kitty finds Min Ho in the sculpture garden to share her feelings for him, but he surprises her with an announcement of his own: he’s leaving for the big summer tour with his dad and brother.
After a heartfelt hug and an intense look into each other's eyes, they part ways. But just as he walks away, Kitty yells, “Wait!” and boldly asks if she can join him. He silently agrees with a head nod, meaning that Min Ho and Kitty are about to be spending a lot more time together.
What’s next for Kitty?
Kitty originally intended to spend just her junior year at KISS, a plan that was nearly cut short in season 1 when she was almost expelled.
In the season 2 finale, however, Principal Lee grants her request to extend her Heritage scholarship for another year, meaning that although XO, Kitty has yet to be renewed for season 3, Kitty's time at KISS isn't over just yet.
That is after she spends the break with Min Ho on his family's big summer tour.
