Yahoo Lifestyle Doc Renewed for 22-Episode Season 2 After Emerging as Fox’s Most-Watched Entertainment Program
The prognosis for Fox’s Doc is excellent.
With just two episodes left to air this season, the Molly Parker-led freshman medical drama has been renewed for a Season 2 chockablock with 22 episodes.

Season-to-date, Doc is averaging 4.5 million total viewers (with delayed playback), besting the cancelled nad recently ended 9-1-1: Lone Star to rank as Fox’s most-watched entertainment program of the 2024-25 TV season.
“We are thrilled that audiences have embraced Season 1 of Doc,” Fox network president Michael Thorn said in a statement. “[Showrunner] Barbie [Steinberg] and [executive producer] Hank [Steinberg] have done an outstanding job bringing one of the most emotionally powerful series on television to life. Renewing for a second season was an easy decision, thanks to this incredible team, our partners at Sony, and an exceptional cast, led by the talented Molly Parker.”

Based on Italy’s Doc: Nelle tue mani, Doc stars Parker (Deadwood) as Dr. Amy Larsen, a hard-charging Chief of Internal Medicine who, following a car accident, cannot remember the past eight years of her life — including the facts that she and her doctor husband Michael (The Affair‘s Omar Metwally) are now divorced… that their son tragically died… she was sneaking off for hook-ups with younger colleague Jake (Queen of the South‘s Jon Ecker)… and that arch rival Richard (Party of Five‘s Scott Wolf) did a very bad, potentially career-ending thing… that only Amy had been witness to.
The cast also boasts Amirah Vann (How To Get Away With Murder) and Anya Banerjee (The Blacklist).
According to Fox, Doc‘s Jan. 7 premiere has delivered “over 16 million viewers across platforms to-date (including encores, through 2/19)” — a 647% increase over its Live+Same Day audience (2.2 mil) and marking the broadcast network’s most-watched debut telecast in five years (excluding post-NFL), since 9-1-1: Lone Star.
