We all know the Christmas season is the best time of year to indulge, and calories don't even count during that special week from Christmas through to New Year's Eve. If you haven't over-indulged in pavlovas, Lindt chocolate balls, and other festive treats, Aldi has a whole freezerfull of goodies to ring in the New Year with.

However, one Aldi-exclusive dessert divide d sweets lovers, with some labelling the $5.99 treat a "waste of money" and others saying it was well worth splitting a tenner.

Taking to a popular Facebook page about Aldi products, one shopper slammed the Toblerone Lava Cakes (which come in a pack of two) calling them "horrible".

"Did anyone else find the taste of these absolutely horrible or was it just me? Such a waste do NOT recommend!" they said.

A bunch of shoppers came in to agree with the original poster, calling the cakes "edible" but saying they wouldn't bother purchasing again.

"They were a bit dry. I expected centre to be full of Toblerone but it was just kind of an icing on the outside. Still edible with ice cream, but wouldn't buy again," one person shared, before coming in with another offer. "The choc lava cakes near the cream/yoghurt are much better. They come in caramel too!"

"Definitely not worth the price. They were definitely what would be expected by a microwave pudding," another disappointed shopper said. "Almost chalky," someone else described, while another chimed in, "They are so yucky."

However, some people have been fans of the dessert, with one TikTok user raving about it and giving it a "9/10".

"If it was cheaper, or bigger, it'd probably get a 10," @russ.eats exclaimed on the app earlier this year.

"That is like a Domino's Lava cake with a massive slug of melted Toblerone over the top, that is f**king mad."
