Demi Moore and Rob Lowe were recently spotted together during a night out — and they might as well have time-traveled straight from the '80s.

The pair, who famously starred together in the 1986 rom-com About Last Night, reunited for a special screening of Moore’s film The Substance at the Lumiere Cinema in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Saturday, Dec. 14. Moore, 62, wore a monochromatic brown skirt suit for the occasion, while Lowe, 60, sported a black jacket, a striped sweater and black jeans.

Moore shared photos from the event on her Instagram on Friday, Dec. 20, making a fun reference to About Last Night.

“About Last (Saturday) Night with @roblowe 😉. An '80s reunion to round out 2024 — thank you, Rob, for introducing our @trythesubstance screening! Grateful for the past, the present and what's yet to come ♥️,” Moore captioned her post.

About Last Night starred Moore and Lowe as Debbie Sullivan and Danny Martin, two 20-somethings in Chicago who fall in love and must navigate the ups and downs of their first real relationship. The film was praised for both Moore and Lowe’s performances, as well as for the honest approach the script took to the problems each character faced.

The movie marked the second time Moore and Lowe appeared onscreen together after starring in the 1985 classic St. Elmo’s Fire. Moore played party girl Jules, and Lowe portrayed the charismatic but troubled Billy. The film cemented the pair as part of the famous “Brat Pack,” along with actors Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson and Ally Sheedy.

Their time together also sparked a real-life romance. Lowe recently revealed that he and Moore briefly dated early in their careers.

“I mean, Demi and I briefly — I'm not telling tales out of school — we briefly had a thing,” he said while appearing on Live! with Kelly and Mark in October, adding, “Look, anytime you put young 20-something men and women together, hookups are inevitable."

Lowe also was sure to clarify that his short romance with Moore came before her engagement to Estevez. (The couple broke off their engagement in 1986.)

In the same interview, Lowe shared that he considers About Last Night to be his best work from early in his career, noting, “Of all the stuff I did in the ’80s, if I had to pick one, it would for sure be About Last Night."

For her part, Moore has reflected on earlier times in her career from a different perspective, recently speaking out on the punishing beauty standards women in Hollywood faced in the ‘80s and ‘90s. In an interview with The Guardian, published in September, the actress said that women were not considered attractive unless they were thin, and shared that she went to extremes to maintain a specific body type.

“What I did to myself. What I made it mean about me. Really looking at that violence, how violent we can be towards ourselves, how just brutal," she told the outlet.

Her latest project, the body horror filmThe Substance, explores these themes and takes them to the extreme. Moore plays an aging Hollywood actress who will go to any lengths to feel relevant in an ageist and sexist culture. Critics have hailed her performance in the film as one of the best of her career.
