Delta Goodrem's beau breaks silence on 'upcoming wedding'
Delta Goodrem fans were sent into a spin earlier this week when a report claimed the singer was set to tie the knot with musician Matthew Copley.
Now Matthew has broken his silence on suggestions the couple are getting married in Hawaii next month.
Nova FM’s Fitzy and Wippa asked fellow musician Conrad Sewell, who is friends with Matthew, to give his mate a call on Tuesday morning to get the wedding goss.
“Delta, I’m sorry. And Matt, I’m sorry… they like to keep things private guys,” Conrad said as he waited for Matthew to pick up the phone.
When Matthew answered, an apologetic Conrad asked: “Matty, they keep asking me about these rumours, whether you’re getting married. What do I tell them?”
“Whether we’re getting married or not?’ Matthew responded.
“Matty, you getting married, mate?” radio host Wippa then chimed in, getting straight to the chase.
Matthew initially hesitated, before saying “no”.
On Monday New Idea magazine reported that Delta and Matthew would be getting married on November 9, which happens to be the ARIA award-winning singer’s birthday.
The publication claimed Delta would wear a Lisa Ho dress for the nuptials in Hawaii, and also published a ‘save the date’ card featuring the couple’s names.
The pair reportedly met in October 2017 while Delta was travelling around Australia for her Wings of the Wild Tour, and while a photo of them kissing on New Year’s Eve later emerged, the singer has never confirmed they’re an item.
In the past Delta has been linked to Hugh Sheridan and Seal.
She was in a relationship with former Westlife member Brian McFadden for seven years from 2004 to 2011.
The singer also dated Nick Jonas from May 2011 to February 2012.
