The longtime couple reveals they’re starting a new production company called Sleepy Poppy! “Zazie and I both grew up in the industry, kind of approaching it collaboratively,” David tells the Daily News of the exciting endeavor. “Sometimes as an actor you come in, do a job, and it’s over. There’s so much more on that bone. I want to be in the editing room. I want to help put it together beforehand.”
“She and I started coming into it as producers and saying, ‘Can we support the voices that we care about?’ Can we create the stories and have a little bit more room at the table to be a part of that? That’s kind of what the impetus was behind it,” the actor adds.

“There’s something I can’t talk about but it’s going to be exciting. But Zazie [Beetz] and I write a lot. I have a couple of scripts. We have a production company and we write a lot,” he begins. “Like I just said twice. Did I mention we write a lot? *laughs* So we are making a Rapunzel story, kind of what happens after, for Zazie. She’ll have a huge afro. That’s something we’re excited about writing…[Zazie’s playing Rapunzel] in the script that we made! Yeah. She's gonna kill it. She’s so good,” David then gushes.

While discussing a Paris-set episode in Atlanta with the star, the outlet notes, “Filming in Paris was emotional for Beetz, who recently got engaged to actor David Rysdahl there. ‘Just seeing the skyline could make me cry,’ Beetz says. ‘I felt like, in some ways, I literally was Van being like, Wow. My alternative life would have been living here.’”

Truly can’t put into words how incredible this journey and the wedding weekend was,” a sweet caption reads.
“Every single person who was involved in this beautiful happening was freakin’ amazing and I am beyond grateful for the team ♡. Thank you for your endless trust and letting me doing basically anything I envisioned for your wedding 😂 @zaziebeetz @davidrysdahl miss & love u 🤍.”
In the footage, the Atlanta star can be seen wearing a stunning white strapless wedding gown and carrying an orchid bouquet, which went perfectly with her “Alice in Wonderland-themed wedding vibe.”
FYI, the wedding’s location is of particular significance, since Zazie was born and raised for the first few years of her life in Berlin, Germany.
