In a video message posted by the AARP, the 80-year-old actor opened up about being a grandfather to his two grandbabies, the children of his two daughters, Lucy Chet DeVito and Grace Fan DeVito.

"In two years, my daughters have had a baby each," he said in the AARP video posted to Instagram. "And since these babies have been born, I'm just incorrigible."

"You got to tamper me down in the joy department," he quipped. "I'm just like, you know, busting. In a minute I'll take out the phone and show you every picture."

Grace, 39, welcomed DeVito's first grandchild, a daughter named Sinclair Lucille DeVito. In 2024, Lucy, DeVito's oldest daughter, welcomed the actor's second grandchild, a son named Carmine.

DeVito shares both his daughters with wife Rhea Perlman, from whom he separated in 2017. The former couple—who never filed for divorce—also share son Jacob Daniel DeVito, 37.

"I'm so lucky," DeVito further gushed in the video, while looking visibly emotional over the sweet topic. "Blessings showered down on me, and I wish it for everybody."

"Imagine if Danny DeVito was your grandfather, that’s like winning the lottery," one user wrote in the comments on Instagram.

"I have to know Danny DeVito's grandpa name," someone else added, while suggesting, "It's giving PopPop."

"Hilarious that he has made a career from being a grouch–and he is of course, the opposite," another user added.
