Dancing With The Stars' Matt Preston quits in shock move: 'We've never had this happen'
The hosts, Sonia Kruger and Daryl Somers, were left shocked by the announcement.
Former MasterChef judge Matt Preston has quit Dancing With The Stars after an ankle injury from his first day of training became too much, forcing him to quit the competition on Sunday night.
The injury meant Matt missed two weeks of training, with his second performance, a Pasodoble to Brian Ferry’s Let’s Stick Together, failing to impress the judges and earning he and partner Jessica Raffa just six out of 40.
The celebrity chef withdrew from the competition after he and Jessica landed in the bottom two with AFL star Gavin Wanganeen and partner Megan Wragg.
"I've loved everything about this but my ankle is cooked," Matt told hosts Sonia Kruger and Daryl Somers. "I can't dance again tonight. So what I want to do is to concede and give the win to Gavin and to Megan who did brilliantly today."

"Ok this... we've never had this happen," Daryl said, seemingly confused.
"We never have, no," Sonia added.
"Matt is saying forfeit so that means we actually don't have a dance off," Daryl said. "Look we might get a comment from our judges if um, given the situation... Craig?"
"Yeah I mean, injuries happen and there's nothing you can do about that," Craig Revel Horwood said. "I've been a dancer all my life, if you're injured you shouldn't dance on an injury. So Matt, I think you've made the right decision."
"I just want to say Matt thank you for everything that you did do on the show," Sharna Burgess added. "And I have pushed through injury before and ended up in surgery so you absolutely doing the right thing and thank you for giving us determination and your courage, you've been wonderful."
"Ah yes and it is a gallant gesture and I commend you for it, and Jess you've done an incredible job, given the circumstances," Todd McKenney said. "And I hope we get to see you guys you know at some point do your dance... I was aching for that."
"Matt, just pure class, and it's the right thing to do for yourself," Mark Wilson said.

Matt took to Twitter to share a message to his followers about his dancing partner, writing, "We formed a very special bond and I loved every moment dancing with my new little sister… This chapter might be over but keep following me and Jess Raffa for some more dancing VERY soo."
