Dan Brown Announces New Book, “The Secret of Secrets”: 'Most Ambitious Novel to Date'
The novel will follow Brown's protagonist Robert Langdon as he embarks on a journey to uncover the secrets behind his girlfriend’s disappearance
The Da Vinci Code author Dan Brown is sharing the next beat of protagonist and Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon’s story.
Brown will be releasing a new novel titled The Secret of Secrets which will follow Langdon — who was notably portrayed by Tom Hanks in The Da Vinci Code movie adaptation — as he embarks on a journey starting in Prague to uncover the secrets behind his girlfriend’s disappearance.
According to a synopsis of the book, Langdon travels to Prague to attend a lecture by his girlfriend and “prominent noetic scientist” Katherine Solomon, who is set to publish a “book that contains startling discoveries about the nature of human consciousness and threatens to disrupt centuries of established belief.”
However, “a brutal murder catapults the trip into chaos” and Katherine and her manuscript subsequently disappear. Meanwhile Langdon “finds himself targeted by a powerful organization and hunted by a chilling assailant sprung from Prague’s most ancient mythology.” The novel sees Langdon travel across London and New York as he searches for Katherine and clues to her disappearance.

“In a thrilling race through the dual worlds of futuristic science and mystical lore, he uncovers a shocking truth about a secret project that will forever change the way we think about the human mind,” the synopsis reads.
Brown teased the book in a statement, saying, “The Secret of Secrets is by far the most intricately plotted and ambitious novel I’ve written to date — and also the most fun. Writing it has been an unforgettable journey of discovery.”

The Secret of Secrets will be published on Sept. 9, 2025 and is available for preorder now, wherever books are sold.
