Princess Mary of Denmark tests positive for COVID-19
Australian-born Crown Princess Mary of Denmark has tested positive for COVID-19, the palace has announced.
The 49-year-old is isolating in a wing of Amalienborg Palace in Copenhagen, away from the rest of her family.
"The Crown Princess has today, Wednesday 15 December 2021, tested positive for COVID-19," a statement on the palace’s Instagram account read.
"Her Royal Highness stays in isolation in Frederik VIII's Palace at Amalienborg".
While the palace did not update royal fans on how the princess is feeling, they did say no other members of the family have tested positive.

It’s likely Princess Mary will be out of isolation at Christmas, as at the moment, Denmark imposes a 10 day quarantine rule.
However, she will have to be symptom-free for 48 hours before she can leave isolation. If the princess hasn't had any symptoms, she can stop self-isolating seven days after having her test.
Earlier this year, Princess Mary opened up about the effect of lockdowns on young people, speaking about the loneliness and isolation of it all.
"Young people are finding it harder and harder to see an end to it all. They struggle to maintain both motivation and spirit, and loneliness has begun to fill more for more of them," she said.
"There was undoubtedly less optimism to be traced in the panel this time, but there were small lights and an exemplary focus on those who are having the hardest time."
In December 2020, Princess Mary’s son, Prince Christian, tested positive for the coronavirus following an outbreak at his school.
The 15-year-old at the time had not been in contact with anyone outside of the royal family, and his mother Mary, dad Prince Frederik and his three siblings Princess Isabella, 13, and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, nine went into isolation as a precaution.
