Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark have shared a collection of new photos to mark their eldest son Prince Christian's first day of boarding school.

The 15-year-old, who is second in line to the throne, started at Denmark's oldest boarding school Herlufsholm this week, with his proud parents helping him move in and get settled.

Since meeting in a Sydney pub in 2000 and tying the knot in a magical wedding four years later, Mary and her husband Prince Frederik of Denmark have lived a life straight out a fairy tale.

Beloved the world over, but particularly by us Aussies, Tasmanian-born Mary and her husband have celebrated many milestones over the years including welcoming four gorgeous children and toasting a decade and a half of marriage.
