Courrèges’ Pre-fall 2025 Collection Is Ready for the Mosh Pit

How many designer brands can claim to be mosh pit-friendly?

Courrèges, a red carpet favorite with celebrities including Dua Lipa, Mikey Madison and Zoe Saldaña, is equally at home amid the sweaty throngs of a festival or nightclub.

Since music lover Nicolas Di Felice took the helm of the label in 2020, he has staged club nights and a pop-up with independent record store Dizonord. His coed pre-collection was filled with dance floor-ready looks.

The soft folds of slinky scarf dresses contrasted with the bold geometric lines of his circular halter tops, skimpy bras with ring straps, or a sheer black lace long-sleeve top.

The latter came with a nifty pocket on the sleeve for storing keys, currencies and cloakroom tickets. For those who would rather hang on to their jacket, there was a new crescent-shaped variation on the Holy handbag, dubbed the Holy Eclipse, equipped with a removable harness strap for suspending outerwear.

Taking his cue from Italian artist Gianni Piacentino and his lifelong fascination with motorcycles, Di Felice peppered the collection with biker references, from snap collars on second-skin zipped jersey tops to embossed logo sleeves on a men’s moto jacket, and patchwork vinyl pieces that channeled leather car seats.

“I love his look throughout the years,” said the designer, noting that Piacentino first exhibited with Arte Povera artists in 1966, around the time André Courrèges was revolutionizing fashion with Space Age looks that liberated women’s bodies.

The founder’s experiments with new materials inspired Di Felice to broaden his scope this season, with the introduction of fabrics such as bonded lace, fil coupé, python-embossed leather and sheer micro mesh.

After last year’s hot-and-heavy fetish-inspired looks, this sensual lineup heralded a more accessible chapter for the brand, which is tweaking its strategy under new chief executive officer Marie Leblanc, who during her tenure at Victoria Beckham helped to transform the company into a profitable lifestyle brand.

Among her first initiatives is moving forward the selling dates and deliveries for pre-collections to extend their lifespan on the shop floor.
