Costa's secret passion as a cabaret performer revealed
He’s the green-fingered TV host, known for inspiring thousands of people all over the nation on ABC’s Gardening Australia, however it turns out landscaping isn’t Costa Georgiadis’ only passion.
The 55-year-old appeared on Wednesday night’s Julia Zemiro's Home Delivery, where he revealed an unusual hobby he likes to indulge in at North Bondi RSL.
Dressed in a white tutu, layers of pearl necklaces, bright red feathers and an intricate headpiece, Costa brought viewers into one of his joyful cabaret performances.
The audience lapped up the energetic routine, which saw Costa sing a rendition of Word Up, kicking his white knee high boots up in the air and making his famous facial expressions for the crowd.
Julia Zemiro couldn’t quite believe what she was seeing, looking on in awe at Costa showing off his creative side.
Back in June, Costa missed out on the coveted Gold Logie to Tom Gleeson, however he did pick up a gong for ‘Most Popular Presenter’ on the night.
Costa’s decorated beard was the talk of the night, which is nothing new for the TV presenter.
“The beard is me!” he said on Gardening Australia earlier this year, “I had the beard long before I got involved in television, and I’ll have it long after.”
“It’s not a fad, it’s not a trend.”
He’s had his beard now for three decades, after a bout of illness while he was traveling through Egypt years ago.
“I was crook and couldn’t be bothered shaving. I never shaved again,” he said.
