Comedian shares what really goes on during viral nine-month cruise: 'Not at all prepared'
EXCLUSIVE: Christian Hull reveals what it was like onboard the Ultimate World Cruise.
The nine-month Ultimate World Cruise has taken the world by storm, capturing the attention of cruise lovers and onlookers alike with over 456M+ views on TikTok alone.
With boundless amounts of high-seas drama, the cruise has become the internet’s favourite reality show - and there is no bigger fan than Aussie comedian and content creator Christian Hull.
After taking the ultimate step and setting sail himself, Christian spoke with Yahoo Lifestyle about what the cruise was really like. Put on your life jackets, you’re in for a journey!
Even before setting sail, Christian has been sharing viral recaps of what’s happening onboard, from food shortages to passenger gossip.
“I’ve been completely obsessed and invested in all the high seas drama from day one,” he tells us. “That being said, I was pretty surprised when people started calling me out to get on board. But, everyone knows that I’m always up for a challenge!”

One of those callouts came from budget-friendly meal kit delivery service, EveryPlate which partnered with Christian to help share ‘what’s cooking’ from the heart of the ship.
Over 16 days at sea, Christian visited seven ports and countries, met with countless cruise creators - including TikTok’s favourite cruise ship enthusiast, Adita - and without a doubt, rocked the boat.
“I was not at all prepared for the dedication that these cruise fans have,” he admits. “There are people onboard spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to be on this cruise for the full nine months. I even met people who have been cruising for decades straight!
“Meanwhile, I spent the first three days hunched over the toilet because we had four-metre swells.”
One thing that Christian’s fans were particularly interested in, however, was the food, so he even went so far as to publish a food review.
“I had heard that food itself was a bit dry and not super fresh, which makes sense because I don’t know how fresh food can be on the open ocean unless it’s caught off the side of the ship,” he shares.
“Overall, it was pretty good, but definitely lacking on the freshness side - don’t get me started on the potatoes or coleslaw. The coffee situation is an entirely different story. Safe to say, I’ve already organised my weekly EveryPlate box to be delivered straight to my door when I hit dry land. The first thing I am going to do when I get home is cook up a fuss-free meal and have a proper coffee.”
But will Christian ever go on another cruise? Only time will tell.
“The pineapples were certainly flowing and I’ve had both the best and most hectic time onboard,” he remarks. “It’s been an insane new experience. Having never been on a cruise before, this has been the trip of a lifetime.
“To be honest, I’m still not sure if cruising is for me. But if I get an invite from Adita, aka the mother of the cruise, to join another next year you might just see me there.”
