A Comedian Did an Incredible Anthony Bourdain at Costco Impression and Fans Are Saying, 'If Only for a Minute, Tony’s Back'
Anthony Bourdain was a renowned chef, writer and television host who captured hearts around the globe with his authenticity, curiosity and adventurous spirit. He gained initial fame with his bestselling memoir, Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly, which offered a behind-the-scenes look at restaurant life. His sharp wit and no-holds-barred storytelling revealed a world of passion and camaraderie in kitchens, and fans loved it.
Bourdain became a cultural icon through his travel shows, most notably Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations and Parts Unknown. These shows went beyond food—they explored culture, history and human connection. Bourdain had a way of making everyone feel seen and valued and his personality was magnetic.
Bourdain had a rare ability to blend humor with insight, challenging stereotypes and encouraging viewers to embrace the unfamiliar—and he is so very missed.
Perhaps that is why comedian Jonathan Kite (@jonathankite) chose to honor the late chef with a spot-on impression of what it would be like if Bourdain were to dine at Costco. Fans loved this hilarious skit, and it made us all feel like we got Tony back, if just for a moment.

Tony Takes on Costco
Costco is known for its massive food products, like the nearly five-pound pumpkin pie, perfect for feeding a crowd, or the four-pound double chocolate fudge cake, a decadent dessert guaranteed to impress at any gathering. These oversized options not only save time and effort but also bring big flavor to the table—Costco-style.
Shoppers also flock to Costco for its legendary food court (hello, $1.50 hot dog combo!) and $5 rotisserie chickens. You can see how this would both impress and horrify a chef like Bourdain.
Jonathan, dressed in a typical Bourdain-style outfit, starts his video by calling Costco a "land of abundance, where your wildest snack dreams and deepest regrets are sold by the pound."
We can't disagree with that assessment, but at least they are delicious regrets!
Of course, Jonathan had to mention that you can get couches and flatscreen TVs alongside bulk grocery items, but that's not why people love Costco. That love belongs to the food court!
Jonathan, still in Bourdain character, tries some of the Costco fan-favorite food court items, like the chicken bake and the double chunk chocolate chip cookie. He is impressed by this "eatery" and we're impressed by his Bourdain impression.

People really needed to see this because we all miss Anthony Bourdain a lot.
"This is what it feels like to see an old friend you haven’t talked to in a long time," someone commented on Jonathan's post.
"The voice is great but the writing and pace were flawless. Bravo," another person said. He nailed it!
"God, I miss Tony. Hearing this kinda made my day," someone chimed in. We all miss him!
"Bro you legit made me tear up. That was spot on," another person added. We all got a little emotional with this one.
I will forever think of Anthony Bourdain when I shop at Costco now. Thanks, Jonathan!
