Colin Farrell Makes Rare Red Carpet Appearance With Teenage Son
Colin Farrell thrilled fans when he appeared on the red carpet for the premiere of The Penguin—especially since he looked nothing like the villain he plays in the new Max miniseries.
Farrell, who wears prosthetics as the title character that make him unrecognizable, wore a pinstriped black suit with a white shirt and black tie for the event. He was accompanied by his rarely-seen 14-year-old son, Henry, who wore a black suit with a black shirt and no tie.
Also on hand at the premiere were several of Farrell's co-stars in the series, including Cristin Milioti and Rhenzy Feliz.
Farrell shares Henry with ex-partner Alicja Bachleda-Curús, his co-star in Ondine. The 48-year-old actor also shares 21-year-old son James, who has a rare genetic disorder called Angelman syndrome, with ex Kim Bordenave.
The Penguin will follow Oswald “The Penguin” Cobblepot Oz’s exploits following the death of his boss in The Batman.
“[It’s set] around Oz’s rise to power, filling that power vacuum created when Falcone was killed,” Farrell told Variety. “And if it works, if the trajectory is interesting, and the audience goes for it, and we do our jobs right, the second [Batman] feature will pick up where the [Max] show will end.”
Fans can tune into The Penguin when it premieres on Thursday, September 19 (with subsequent episodes airing on Sundays).
