Coles shopper's noodle discovery sparks frenzy online: 'Best thing ever'
TikTok users can't stop raving about this Korean-inspired snack.
Leave it to TikTok to find the ultimate snack for those hungry girl moments. One savvy shopper recently spilled the beans on her latest Coles find, and the internet can practically hear its stomach growling.
Enter the Tteokbokki; yes, it's a mouthful in more ways than one.
This traditional spicy Korean rice cake dish has shot to superstardom down under, all thanks to the recent explosion of K-Pop and Korean dramas, which have piqued interest in Korean culture.

But here's a twist on the traditional Korean fare: Coles' version is a Sweet & Spicy Rapokki, pairing tteokbokki (rice cakes) with ramen for a spicy kick in just 3 minutes; it's basically instant cup-a-noodles with an international zing.
And at just $4.30 per cup, it might just become your go-to lunch break fix. At least that's if you believe the TikTok hype.
"I got this from Coles, and it's rice cakes and noodles," TikToker Kate Heaslip excitedly showed off the goods before declaring the little packets of noodles, "the cutest thing ever!"
TikTok taste test
After adding water and giving it a quick zap in the microwave, followed by a sprinkle of the flavour sachet, Kate's ready for the all-important taste test.
"Amazing!" she states after a satisfying slurp. "That is so yummy, oh my god yay, I'm going to get this all the time now!"
Of course, the comment section was immediately ablaze with love for these noodles.
No more gatekeeping
"NO, I WAS GATEKEEPING THIS, NOW IT'LL SELL OUT," cried one protective TikToker. "We were ALL gatekeeping," agreed another.
"It's legit the best thing ever," said someone else, before yet another confessed to being, "currently obsessed" with the snack.
But the love didn't stop there.
"These are my current addiction, how good are they?" exclaimed another fan.
Delicious additions for next-level flavour
And as always, TikTok chefs were ready to take it up a notch.
"I boil these in a pan with dumplings and a boiled egg," suggested one culinary whiz.
And let's not forget the cheese lovers (i.e. basically all of us); the consensus was that a little cheese sprinkled on top could never go astray.
"Extra mozzarella, trust me," advised another.
"I love them, but I prefer to cook them on the stove then put thickening cream and cheese on the top of it too!"
Others made ingredient suggestions, including "shredded cheese and a splash of milk," and "a teaspoon of sour cream," as well as "half a runny egg and spring onion or chives."

Heaslip herself said she didn't find them particularly spicy and would add extra chilli.
