Rose Bay Coles branded 'fanciest' Aussie store in TikTok video
A Sydney Coles has been dubbed the ‘boujiest’ in Australia after a TikTok video from inside the store has gone viral.
Once home to the heritage-listed Kings Theatre cinema, Coles Local in Rose Bay is the first of its kind in New South Wales, officially opening its doors on May 20th and this video shows it’s certainly not anything like your average Coles supermarket.
The shop includes some never-before-seen features, such as a pick-and-mix bar just for dogs, a macaron, mini gelato and Japanese mochi ice cream parlour, a self-serve coffee and orange juice station, and one of the largest plant-based ranges of any Coles supermarket in New South Wales.
One shocked shopper couldn’t believe their eyes when they walked in the doors of the Eastern Suburbs supermarket, taking to TikTok to document their experience.
The video, which has been viewed nearly 300,000 times on the social media site, was uploaded by a man called Prash, who goes by the handle @patchytee.

In a statement when the shop opened, Coles said research of the area showed that the Rose Bay community are twice as likely to choose “ premium, high quality products than the average Australian shopper” and that they would be catering “to these time-poor Rose Bay professionals”.
This includes a pick-and-mix selection of tasty doggy treats, so customers can “spoil their pampered pooches with a bespoke blend of canine snacks”.
Coles also partnered with local butchers, bakers and cafes to offer a bespoke range of high-quality foods, including “Sydney stalwart Sonoma, Southeast Asian delights from Roll’d, and pastries from traditional French bakery Noisette”.
They also offer the largest vegan and vegetarian range of any Coles store in NSW, with more than 200 plant-based products and more than 400 kosher products.
Sustainability is front of mind at the store, with staff uniforms made from 65 per cent recycled bottles, trolleys made partly from recycled plastic and free reclaimed customer carry boxes as an alternative to bags.
