In one video, a young boy is heard saying: "We [found] a mutant chicken, there's like, one, two, three, four, five, six – we've only cracked open six eggs but there's 12 yolks!"

His dad gets ready to crack another egg with the boy saying: "It's going to be a double-yolk! I swear on my parents' lives... Look, double-yolk!" as another egg is cracked revealing the seventh double yolk.

"What is this?" the stunned boy questions.

According to the ABC, the chances of getting a double-yolk in your carton is one in 1,000, but the chances of getting four in a row is higher than you might think.

Double-yolks are likely to come from young chickens whose ovaries are too "enthusiastic" and create two yolks.

You're also more likely to find a double-yolk in a large or jumbo-sized egg.

The reason you could have a whole carton of eggs that are double-yolkers could be due to the fact the chickens are all likely to be the same age and if they're young, they're more likely to produce double-yolks.
