Coachella lineup: Lady Gaga, Travis Scott, Post Malone will headline in 2025

The announcement for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival lineup has arrived early this year.

Lady Gaga, Green Day and Post Malone will headline, and Travis Scott is included in what's been previously called the "returning to the desert" slot to play on Saturday night.

The 2025 festival will be held April 11-13 and April 18-20 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.

Other notable acts scheduled to perform this spring include Missy Elliott, Charli XCX, Megan Thee Stallion, The Original Misfits, Gustavo Dudamel & LA Phil, The Go-Gos and more.

Jennie and Lisa from previous Coachella headlining band BLACKPINK will also perform as solo artists.

Coachella 2025 tickets: How to buy a festival pass

Those interested in attending can register now for access to passes at coachella.com. Presale begins at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT Friday. Those who attended and purchased in 2023 and 2024 got early access Thursday. In a press release sent Wednesday, Goldenvoice advised "for your best chance at passes, look to Weekend 2."

The presale does not guarantee pass type, packages or camping.

Due to rising production costs and low ticket sales, passes for the 2024 edition of Coachella did not sell out immediately for the second year in a row.

Which headliners have performed at Coachella previously?

Lady Gaga previously headlined Coachella in 2017 to replace Beyoncé after she became pregnant. It's the only time she's ever appeared at the festival.

Travis Scott also made his only Coachella appearance the same year. He was originally scheduled to headline the festival in 2020 before it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic

Ye, the artist formally known as Kanye West, claimed he'd also planned to bring Scott out during his 2022 Coachella set but wouldn't perform at all unless Billie Eilish (another 2022 headliner) apologized for comments she made that some believed were about the crowd crush tragedy at Scott's Astroworld Festival.

Ye ended up pulling out of the 2022 festival and was replaced by Swedish House Mafia and The Weeknd, who shared the slot by splitting their time evenly on the last day of the festival.

Green Day will be making its Coachella debut this spring, but frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has performed as a special guest of The Replacements during their 2014 festival set.

Post Malone was last on the Coachella lineup in 2018, and he also performed as a special guest during Bad Bunny's historic Weekend 1 Coachella 2023 set. Most recently, he performed at the Empire Polo Club during his Stagecoach 2024 set, jam-packed with special guests.

Why did the Coachella lineup post early this year?

Traditionally, Los Angeles-based promoter Goldenvoice releases the full Coachella festival lineup in early January.

But signs first started to point toward an early announcement Tuesday when rapper and singer-songwriter Post Malone hinted he'd appear at both weekends of the festival in an Instagram post with all his dates for what he's dubbed the "Big Ass Stadium Tour" in 2025.

The first two dates on the poster said "APR 13 INDIO, CA" and "APR 20 INDIO, CA."

The tour is specifically billed as an arena tour, and Indio isn't home to any arenas or other venues large enough to hold the same crowd size that arenas do — no venue except a large field where the Coachella and Stagecoach festivals always take place, aka the Empire Polo Club.

Goldenvoice's social media team also wiped all the posts off its Instagram account other than an April 22 post saying "Advance Sale begins now. See you in the desert."

They also posted an Instagram Story video of palm trees — which appeared to be at the festival grounds — blowing in the wind. Although the post didn't include any words, it got social media users' attention, and speculation about the lineup started flooding the account's single remaining post.
