Christine Brown Says She Hasn't Spoken to Former Sister Wives Meri and Robyn in 'Years' and Plans to 'Keep It Like That'

Christine also revealed she did not invite Meri or Robyn to her wedding to David Woolley, bluntly stating: "I don't need to develop a relationship with them"

Christine Brown’s life looks a little different these days.

In the recent episode of iHeart’s Rogue Energy podcast, Christine and Janelle Brown discussed their lives after leaving polygamy. When it comes to staying in contact with their former sister wives Meri and Robyn Brown, Christine revealed her relationship with them is completely in the past.

“I haven't talked to Meri or Robyn for years, and it's funny,” she said. “We'll just keep it like that. I don't need to develop a relationship with them.”

Christine even confessed that the only sister wife she invited to her recent wedding to David Woolley was Janelle, who said “it would have been awkward” for Meri or Robyn to attend.

“A great thing about being older when you get married is that you really only have to invite the people that you really want there,” Christine said. “There's no obligatory invitations that go out to some uncle Bob or uncle Jed but you're like, ‘I really don't want him there. He's gonna blah, blah, blah. He always does this blah, blah, blah.’ We didn't have to.”

“We really only invited our closest friends to our wedding,” she continued, telling Janelle: “And you were one of our closest friends. I'm not friends with Kody or Meri or Robyn, and so I didn't have to. I only had to invite who I wanted.”

Janelle echoed Christine’s sentiments, saying their lives have changed since fans first saw them married to Kody Brown on TLC’s Sister Wives. While she still speaks to Meri occasionally, she explained that they have all gone in different directions in life.

“I've had some interactions with Meri, and I think she's been really happy,” Janelle said. “She's been living her own life. Do you know what I mean? So we've been working cohesively to sort of get this property situation settled, which has been nice. I've not had any interaction with Robyn. I haven't sought her out. I don't really overlap her in any part of my life.”

Janelle is currently working out a deal with Kody, Robyn and Meri regarding a property they all bought in Flagstaff, Arizona before splitting. Christine, who was also part of the original purchase, sold her share of it to Kody for just $10 in 2022 in an effort to distance herself from the family.

Once they reach a deal, Janelle admitted she probably won’t be in contact with any of them again.

“It's not part of the family requirement,” she said. “There's not a whole lot of reason to have relationships with these people. [We’re] so different. I still have a great relationship with Meri’s child. I really do hope someday that there will be some reconciliation between our little pod. You know what I mean? And Robyn’s kids. But I don't know.”

Christine agreed, adding that “the tragedy of what happened [was] us losing contact with Robyn’s kids.”

And while the women have pulled away from Kody and Robyn, who are still married, Meri also left the family in 2023. Janelle noted that although she doesn’t “have that much in common” with Meri, there is no bad blood between them.

“I'm grateful for the personal growth that it brought because I had to learn how to find my own worth — who I was as a person and I didn't have to be always comparing,” she explained. “I knew my worth and I knew what it was, but then you also have to learn how to accommodate all the different personalities. And while that's a wonderful thing, it is a challenge.”
