Christina Hall Tags Ex Ant Anstead in Instagram Video of Their Son Enjoying His Dad's Favorite Pastime

The HGTV star, who split from her second husband in 2021, shared a video of their 4-year-old son at his first soccer practice

When Christina Hall’s son had a successful first soccer practice, she wanted to share the milestone with her ex Ant Antstead.

The HGTV star posted a video of Hudson, 4, excitedly running and kicking a ball on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, writing, “First soccer practice, ever! Natural.”

The Christina on the Coast designer, 41, tagged Anstead, her second husband and Hudson’s dad, with whom she's previously had a contentious relationship.

The former couple met in late 2017 and tied the knot a year later. They welcomed Hudson in September 2019, but split the following September, finalizing their divorce in June 2021. They later endured a heated custody battle that often played out in the public eye.

Following her recent divorce from her third husband, Josh Hall, from whom she split in July, Christina re-followed Anstead on Instagram and liked some of his posts featuring Hudson.

Talking to Backgrid recently, she revealed why, saying Hudson was a key player in the decision. “Ant and I share Hudson... and I feel like he deserves to have us get along,” she said.

In late July, Christina shared a surprising response to a fan’s suggestion that Anstead join The Flip Off, her upcoming HGTV series in which Josh was originally set to be her partner as she faces off with Tarek and Heather.

“How awesome would it be to have Ant replace Josh on The Flip Off? Ratings would go through the roof. If it happens, I need some credit. Lol,” the commenter wrote.

Christina replied, “LOL that would be a genius 'ratings' idea just sayin.”

She later clarified her stance on the idea of Anstead taking Josh’s place on the competition show.

“It would be good for ratings, but I can’t work with any more exes," she told Backgrid. "I already work with Tarek.”

In addition to appearing alongside her first husband in the upcoming series, the exes previously filmed their hit series Flip or Flop together for several seasons after they divorced, before ending it March 2022.

Christina added that she might be open to Anstead being involvement in The Flip Off in the future: “Maybe season two," she said.

Christina and Anstead were involved in a contentious custody battle in 2022 after their split, which included disagreements over how they shared photos of Hudson on social media.

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE at the time, a judge signed off on the pair’s agreement to "continue to have joint legal and joint physical custody" of Hudson, which was the agreement when their divorce was finalized in June 2021.

Christina is based in Newport Beach, Calif., while Anstead has been splitting time between Laguna Beach, Calif. and his native England, where his girlfriend Renee Zellweger has been filming the fourth Bridget Jones movie.
