How Christina Aguilera Silenced Body Shamers And Slammed Those Ozempic Rumors

Christina Aguilera has been in the public eye for ages, and she’s openly talked about her weight and body image in the past. Now, the 43-year-old is opening up in a new interview about how her body image has evolved over time.

Christina told Glamour that she struggled with people policing her body when she was younger, and she stopped watching late-night TV shows because of all of the jokes about her and her friends.

But she also had trouble with the fact that there was so much attention on her body when she was younger—and that it continued as she got older and her body changed. Here’s what she’s shared.

Rumors swirled that Christina is taking Ozempic for weight loss.

In May, social media watchers claimed that Christina was taking Ozempic, a diabetes treatment that controls blood sugar levels.

Some people use Ozempic as an off-label weight-loss drug. Oprah, Kelly Clarkson, Rebel Wilson and Sharon Osbourne, among others, have acknowledged using Ozempic to lose weight.

She’s felt insecure about her weight in the past, but no longer gives ‘a f*ck.’

Christina previously told Health magazine, per People, that she felt “insecure” about her body until she “started filling out a little bit” when she got older.

“Entering this business, I hated being super skinny. Once I turned 21, I started filling out a little bit, and I was loving my new curves,” she said. "I appreciated having a booty. I've always said that women are way more interesting to look at than men. I have a hard time looking at the early pictures of myself because I remember feeling so insecure.”

Christina told Glamour that a lot of her self-esteem when she was younger was based on “how skinny I was.”

“When you’re a teenager, you have a very different body than when you’re in your 20s,” she said. “I started to fill out, and then that was unacceptable because it was like, ‘Oh, she’s getting thicker.’ Then I had industry people: ‘They liked your body and how you were as a skinny teenager.’”

But Christina learned to block out the noise.

“I have a maturity now where I just don’t give a fuck about your opinion. I’m not going to take it on,” she said. “It must be your responsibility to take up your space. Other people’s opinions of me are not my business.”

She follows the rainbow diet.

Christina hasn’t shared a ton about her eating plan lately, but she reportedly followed the 7-Day Color Diet at one point. With that eating plan, you have a different color of food each day of the week, rotating between white, red, green, orange, purple, yellow, and rainbow in that order.

In addition to those colors, you have eggs, chicken, milk, and cheese.

Christina shared with L’Officiel in 2020 that she no longer diets and just tries to eat whole foods.

She’s serious about her workouts.

Christina’s trainer opened up about the singer’s workouts after she had her son, Max. Among other things, her trainer told Glamour that Christina likes to lift heavy weights, do intervals, and toss in cardio, like jumping rope, stair climbing, or boxing.
