Chris Meloni Pens Blunt Response to Elon Musk After He Defends Assassination 'Joke'

Chris Meloni has a direct take on Elon Musk's defense of a self-proclaimed "joke" about a potential assassination of President Joe Biden and/or Vice President Kamala Harris.

The owner of X took to his own social media platform on the afternoon of Sunday, Sept. 15, hours after Donald Trump was allegedly targeted in another possible assassination attempt, retweeting another user who questioned, "Why they want to kill Donald Trump?"

Musk quote-tweeted the post, adding, "And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala," alongside a thinking face emoji, leading plenty of people to call on the FBI and Secret Service to investigate him, reading the comment as a call to action.

Eventually, Musk deleted the post altogether, first tweeting, "Well, one lesson I’ve learned is that just because I say something to a group and they laugh doesn’t mean it’s going to be all that hilarious as a post on 𝕏," before suggesting that the "joke" had fallen flat since others couldn't understand the "context" or read his tone through the "delivery [of] plain text."

The former Law & Order: SVU star was quick to clap back, though, retweeting the explanation and offering an alternative explanation: "OR… Turns out ur not funny."

It's the second time in just a few short days that Musk has made a controversial post on X.

After Taylor Swift formally endorsed Harris for president, Musk posted a "gross" and "creepy" response that many perceived as sexual harassment.

"Fine Taylor … you win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life," he wrote.
