The search is on for Chris Hemsworth’s beloved dog Sunny after the pooch went missing in the Byron Bay area on Wednesday.

According to ‘Lost Dog’ posters shared on Instagram by the Thor star’s personal trainer Luke Zocchi, the cream-coloured groodle ran off at around 2pm after being “zapped” by an electric fence.

Searching for Sunny

The “much-loved family pet” was last seen on a private property on Bangalow Road, in the suburb of Taofa in the Byron Bay hinterland.

Affectionately known as Sundog, the pup is reportedly microchipped and “very friendly”.

Another of the family’s friends, Elsa Pataky’s horse-riding pal Tracey Sparkes, has taken to the Byron Bay Community Board on Facebook to share a desperate plea for Sunny’s safe return.

“Update: Sunny is still missing, now approaching her second night lost.. please keep a look out for her,” she wrote.

Beloved family pup

The family-of-five - Chris and Elsa are parents to daughter India Rose, six, and five-year-old twin boys Tristan and Sasha - are often pictured taking Sunny on walks on the local beach.

The pup has been a part of the Hemsworth’s lives for several year, with Chris taking to Instagram back in 2016 to share a sweet selfie of his best pal.

“Had an epic ‘stare off’ with this vicious beast today,” the Men In Black star wrote in the caption.

In 2018, the fluffy pooch made a cameo in a video Chris shared of himself miming to his then-sister-in-law Miley Cyrus’ hit song, “Wrecking Ball”.

Snakes alive!

The Hemsworths are definitly animal lovers, with Elsa taking to Instagram to share snaps of her little ones playing with a snake on Thursday.

“Boys found a little baby python today. Hopefully when it grows up we’ll still be friends,” she wrote.

In the snaps, the fearless twins are seen getting hands on with the reptile, with big sis India Rose also joining in the scaly fun by allowing the python to wrap itself around her forearm.

But everyone can rest assured that the kids were safe from danger, as pythons are a non-venomous type of snake but they can grow to be more than 1.5m metres in length upon adulthood.
