In some news guaranteed to make your Friday even better, a new study has found that chocolate can actually make you smarter!
Yep, that’s right, the science is in and your afternoon vending machine hit is actually turning you into a genius.
A study has found that people who eat chocolate at least once a week saw their memory and abstract thinking improve. Nutrition researcher, Georgina Crichton said that the nutrients in chocolate are associated with brain boosting benefits.
"We found that people who eat chocolate at least once a week tend to perform better cognitively," Psychologist Merrill Elias said.

While, you’ll be forgiven for assuming that this news must be too good to be true, and consider it just a matter of intelligent people liking the taste of chocolate because they’re, well, smart – you’ll be happy to know that’s not the case!
According to Crichton, their study's findings show "the direction is not that cognitive ability affects chocolate consumption, but that chocolate consumption affects cognitive ability."
Now, that all is right in the world, we’ve decided to just go ahead and blow your Friday out of the water, because along with making you smarter, those delicious creamy squares can actually make you healthier too.
There’s mountains of research to prove that chocolate helps prevent heart attacks and strokes. Another study found that middle age and older adults who eat up to two standard chocolate bars a day seem to have lower rates of heart disease than those who don’t.
