Cher Channels Elvis in Pompadour Wig As Fans Say ‘Chelvis Lives’
A musical icon at the top of their game, whose classic songs and signature style have inspired generations of musicians that followed in their footsteps. Is this a description of Cher, Elvis Presley, or perhaps both?
The “If I Could Turn Back Time” singer didn’t make people choose after she emulated the “Jailhouse Rock” singer at a recent event, prompting fans to declare that “Chelvis lives.”
Cher took to the stage on March 6 at the annual Love Rocks NYC benefit concert and left her fans all shook up after she performed a three-song set, at one point dressed in a pink striped shirt, an oversized blazer, and a pompadour wig.
The singer broke out two of her classic anthems, “(This Is) A Song for the Lonely” and “Believe” during the performance. Fans online were especially thrilled by her version of “Walking in Memphis,” which she frequently performs while dressed as Presley, a nod to her music video of the cover.
Presley’s iconic home, Graceland, is located in the Tennessee city. The estate, which is now a museum devoted to the “Burning Love” singer, is also the burial site of Presley, his parents, his beloved grandmother, his daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, and her son, Benjamin Keough.

So emotional to see this look again..i remember watching Top of the pops in 1995 when she performed in this exact outfit. She looks exactly the same! I felt very nostalgic ❤️,” commented one person on a video posted by a Cher fan page.
“The absolute highlight of my year so far ❤️,” said another, as a third agreed, writing, “she looked great, she sounded great, she did great!! phenomenal ❤️ no one does it better!!!🥰.”
