Chef Morimoto Cooks ‘Once in a Lifetime’ Dinner for Final Four “Top Chef” Contestants: ‘This Is Crazy’ (Exclusive)
In an exclusive clip shared with PEOPLE ahead of Wednesday's episode, the remaining four contestants have a meal to remember
The final four Top Chef contestants earned themselves a top-notch meal.
In the exclusive clip above from the June 12 episode, the remaining contestants from season 21 of the Bravo cooking competition — Danny Garcia, Dan Jacobs, Laura Ozyilmaz and Savannah Miller — received one of the best surprises of the season. Chef Masaharu Morimoto came to cook them dinner.
While Season 21 took place in Wisconsin, the final episodes see the chefs set sail on Holland America Line’s Eurodam to Curaçao. Before they battle it out for their last Quickfire Challenge, the chefs walk into the ship’s Nami Sushi restaurant on board. Morimoto is seen behind the counter in a black chef jacket.
“Welcome chefs!” he says in the clip shared exclusively with PEOPLE.

Immediately, all four chefs are in shock. “What is happening?” Garcia exclaims.
The Iron Chef star is thinly slicing tuna as the contestants take in his presence. “He’s an icon,” Miller says in an interview.
“I’m very excited to be able to feed you all tonight,” Morimoto says. “I helped launch the global fish program here at Holland America, and I am very proud as the ambassador of the fresh fish program.” Afterwards, he tells them to take a seat as he finishes their multi-course meal.
“Chef Morimoto is going to cook for me and these three goons?” Jacobs jokes. “Like this is crazy.”
He comes to the table with his first course, which is a fun fusion dish: tuna pizza. “It’s good. Because I made it, that’s why,” Morimoto quips.
“This is one of those once in a lifetime dinners,” Garcia says.

As the chefs munch on the delicate, bite-sized dish, it’s clear they’re all more than pleased. “I absolutely love his vision of making food approachable and relatable to everybody,” Ozyilmaz says. “Bringing a sense of culture to other people, that’s always my aspiration. What a better way to do that than something you can relate to – tuna pizza.”
Their second course features his “signature dish,” including Japanese original traditional rolls.
“This is the highlight of my life right now,” Miller says in awe.
The episode, which airs Wednesday, June 12, also sees the chefs competing in an Elimination Challenge focused around different preparation styles of fish. Kristen Kish, Gail Simmons, Tom Colicchio are joined by guest judge and Top Chef alum Ed Lee.
Top Chef airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
