The Chase star Mark Labbett, known as The Beast on the successful game show, has shown off the results of his incredible weight loss.

Mark, who initially lost 15kg before shedding the same amount again, uploaded a side-by-side image to his Instagram account to reveal the extent of his 30kg transformation.

“Leaner, meaner lockdown with good folks of muscle foods. At this rate I will be the skinniest chaser,” he wrote for a paid partnership with ready made meal company Muscle Food.

“You have done amazing !!! Weight loss has taken years off you! Wish I had a bit of your willpower,” one person commented.

“Wow, what a massive change. You have done so well Mark, you should be mega proud,” another person wrote.

Last year, Mark revealed a diagnosis of diabetes was what spurred him on to lose some weight, something he revealed in a previous interview with the Loose Women panel.

“I’m waiting for my next check up and I’m hoping the figures are going to be better. I’m still eating very well – I'm just cutting out sugar because of the Type 2 diabetes,” he told the program.

Mark csaid cutting sugar and running around after his young son aided his weight loss and also adding that breakfast played a huge part as well.

“The big secret, which somebody told me is the thing that all people who are very, very overweight have in common, is that they don't eat breakfast,” he added.

Mark’s weight loss after marriage woes

Mark’s incredible weight loss comes after the star was faced with marriage woes earlier in the year after reports his wife Katie had found love with a much younger man.

Reports suggest she was having an affair with 28-year-old Scott Bate, according to The Sun, but last month Mark let his ring do the talking, flashing the marriage band to announce he and wife Katie remain together despite a highly-publicised alleged cheating scandal and supposed marriage breakdown.

Though Katie appeared to confirm her new relationship and split from her husband back in May, it seems the star-crossed lovers are back on, and working things out.

“Like a lot of relationships, you go through a rough patch. Our absolute priority is our son, and we’re working our way through it,” Mark told the program.

He says the pair’s focus is now on their marriage and shared son, who Mark is determined to keep out of the limelight.

Mark, 53, married Katie, 26, in a fairytale wedding five years ago – despite realising that they were actually second cousins.

Mark and Katie’s fathers are first cousins, but they actually met through mutual friends and did not find out that they were related until later.

“It wasn’t something we were aware of (when we first started dating) – it was one of those things that happened,” Mark told Loose Women in 2017.

Coronavirus controversy

In September, Mark caused a stir online when he weighed in on the UK’s response to the coronavirus crisis.

‘Say no to lockdown’ he tweeted, before hours later blocking those who responded by questioning his intelligence, something the professional quizzer prides himself on.

“Blocking a lot of people this afternoon,” he wrote. “Politics is all about discussion/argument but questioning my intelligence is pretty counterproductive #SayNoToLockdown.”
