Chance Perdomo Remembered by Stars of Gen V and The Boys, Others: ‘This Hurts. A Lot.’

Cast members of Gen V and its sire The Boys are paying tribute to Chance Perdomo, who passed away as a result of a motorcycle accident at just 27 years old.

Patrick Schwarzenegger, who plays Luke, the best friend of Perdomo’s character Andre in The Boys spinoff, posted photos to his Instagram stories on Sunday remembering his late co-star. “Love yah buddy,” he wrote beneath the final photo. “Hope you’re up in heaven with a cigar.”

Schwarzenegger later took to X, writing: “This hurts. A lot. What a young talented actor, and a great friend — gone way too soon.” He added it was “a pleasure to work with him” on the Prime Video series.

Sean Patrick Thomas, who plays Perdomo’s on-screen dad in Gen V, paid tribute to Perdomo’s “blinding intellect,” “encyclopedic knowledge of hip hop” and his “raw talent” in an Instagram post. “You were destined to make yourself unforgettable in this world, and in a brief time you achieved it,” Thomas added. “You ran your race with style my man. I’ll miss our long talks friend.”

Lizze Broadway, another Gen V co-star, called Perdomo a “beloved friend and castmate” and said his passing “has left a profound void” in her heart in a statement posted on Instagram. “Chance possessed so many interpersonal gifts that I treasured deeply,” she wrote. “He was a vital part of my growth as an individual, his gentle spirit lifting me up when I needed it most.” Broadway concluded her note, writing: “To me, he was and always will be my superhero. I am in shock and grieving his loss deeply. Rest in peace, dear Chance. You will forever hold a special place in my heart. I love you.”

The Boys’ Antony Starr, who guest-starred in Gen V’s Season 1 finale, called Perdomo’s passing “so goddamn tragic” on Instagram. The Boys‘ Erin Moriarty, Jack Quaid and Karen Fukuhara also remembered Perdomo on social media.

Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos hailed Perdomo, who starred in the streamer’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (as the warlock Ambrose Spellman), as a “gifted young actor lost too early.” He added that Perdomo was “so great to work with” on the four-season supernatural series.

“We can’t quite wrap our heads around this,” the producers of Gen V said in a statement released on Saturday. “For those of us who knew him and worked with him, Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented performer, and more than anything else, just a very kind, lovely person. Even writing about him in the past tense doesn’t make sense. We are so sorry for Chance’s family, and we are grieving the loss of our friend and colleague. Hug your loved ones tonight.”

Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television released their own statement, saying “the entire Gen V family is devastated by the sudden passing of Chance Perdomo.” They offered “heartfelt thoughts and support to Chance’s family and all who loved him at this difficult time.”

Gen V debuted in September 2023 and was renewed in October, but production on Season 2 has been pushed back in the wake of Perdomo’s passing.
