Celeste Barber steals supermodel's spotlight on Vogue cover

Aussie funny lady and Instagram star Celeste Barber has successfully stolen the spotlight from a supermodel - and on the cover of Vogue magazine, no less.

The homegrown actor and comedian was invited by Vogue Portugal to take part in the ultimate #CelesteChallenge and recreate Russian beauty Irina Shayk’s August cover look.

Twinning

Celeste took the challenge and ran with it, slipping on the exact same orange designer sweater by Victor Glemaud that Irina, 33, wore for the shoot.

She even nailed the Sports Illustrated babe’s hands-on-head pose, but swapped out her curved white earrings for something a little more affordable.

Yes, that’s right - Celeste is rocking takeaway coffee cup lids on her ears.

It was a case of who wore it best in the end, and we think Celeste takes the cake - and we’re not alone.

In fact, the Vogue team loved it so much, they gave Celeste her very own spot on the cover.

“@celestebarber accepted our challenge and recreated @irinashayk’s cover. The final result was so good she deserved her own cover. Two covers, the same issue and lots of humour,” the mag wrote on Instagram.

Winning

While both cover stars shared a snap of the mag on their respective Instagram accounts, Celeste’s has so far earned double the likes of her supermodel counterpart.

Celeste’s many celeb pals are also loving the same-same-but-different look, with ex-Bachie star Sophie Monk commenting, “Another level”.

Australia’s Got Talent judge Lucy Durack couldn’t contain herself, posting, “YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS CELESTE!!!!” while Goggleboxer-turned-radio-host Yvie Jones simply wrote, “Earrings”.

Praise from international stars also flowed in, with Brit actor and body positive pioneer Jameela Jamil writing, “OBSESSED WITH THIS. Congrats”.

Big Little Lies star Shailene Woodley joked, “I can’t with you homie,” while American comedian Whitney Cummings gushed, “Heaven”.

Healthy competition

It seems there’s no hard feelings between cover stars Celeste and Irina, with Bradley Cooper’s ex writing on her account, “@celestebarber showing us how it’s done!”

It’s a good thing too, as the pair might be in competition for prime position in magazines in the future.

After all, Portugal’s Vogue cover marks Celeste’s second this year, after she was featured by InStyle Australia back in February.
