The NCIS universe is expanding with the addition of NCIS: Origins to the CBS Fall 2024-2025 schedule. This new chapter in the franchise is the story of how LeRoy Jethro Gibbs became an NCIS agent and is set in 1991.

What is NCIS: Origins about?

Is there a trailer for NCIS: Origins?

Production has yet to begin, so no trailer as yet, but there is this promo.

What role does Mark Harmon play on NCIS: Origins?

Harmon will not be on camera but will narrate the series and serve as an executive producer. In addition, his real-life son Sean, who played a young Gibbs during flashbacks on the mothership, will also serve as an executive producer. The two Harmons were the inspiration behind the new series.

"The character of Gibbs has been an important part of my life for 20 years, both in watching my father craft the role and previously having the honor to play young Gibbs myself," Sean Harmon said in a statement. "I always felt there was a tale worth telling about his earlier years, so I am thrilled to be stepping into a producing role alongside Gina [Lucita Monreal], David [J. North], and my dad as we tell this story and reveal a new side of this beloved character."
