Caylee Cowan & Brady Noon To Star In Psychological Thriller ‘Mother And Me’

EXCLUSIVE: Caylee Cowan (Willy’s Wonderland) and Brady Noon (The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers) have been tapped to lead Mother and Me, a psychological thriller marking the directorial debut of cinematographer Carson McKinnon, who also wrote the script.

The film tells the story of Casey (Cowan), a young woman confined to her home, living under the same roof as her mother. Struggling to write what’s poised to be a best-selling horror novel and living in the shadow of her late father, a renowned horror author, Casey grapples with the complexities of her relationship with her mother.

Appearing alongside Cowan and Noon, in the role of Mother, is newcomer Tara Janae Smith.

Mother and Me will be produced by the Utah-based Rob Diamond Films (Love Everlasting) and the director’s banner, McKinnon Media. Todd McKinnon is exec producing, with Samuel Goodrich, Seth Parkinson, and Kenadee Clark serving as associate producers. Production kicks off in Salt Lake City, UT in September.

Stated Cowan, “As an actor, I’m really excited by the opportunity to take on a role that explores such a complex and codependent relationship between a mother and daughter. I hope that this movie will spark conversations that will ultimately help bring awareness to what can happen behind closed doors, and that through those kinds of conversations, we can find forgiveness and a way to heal.”

Added McKinnon, “I am extremely excited for this production. We’ve assembled such a great team, and I’m thrilled to be working with both Caylee and Brady. It will be a very emotionally complex role, but I know Caylee will be able to tap into the intricacies of her character and bring the many layers to full bloom.”

Previously, Cowan has appeared in the breakout genre picture Willy’s Wonderland, the music biopic Spinning Gold, Eddie Alcazar’s Sundance sci-fi thriller Divinity, the romantic drama Sunrise in Heaven, and more.

Voicing Raphael in both Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem and Paramount+’s recently launched animated series Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Noon’s other credits include Family Switch, Marry Me, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, multiple Diary of a Wimpy Kid films, Good Boys, and Boardwalk Empire.

Cowan is represented by Buchwald, Luber Roklin Entertainment, and Bloch Law; Noon by Gersh; and Smith by Talent Management Group in Utah.
