'Spitting image!': Catherine Zeta Jones daughter Carys, 17, stuns in lookalike photo
We all know that parents and children are genetically likely to look a hell of a lot like one another, but when a famous face unveils a mini-me it’s hard not be blown away by the uncanny similarities, no matter how scientifically expected they may be.
Catherine Zeta Jones is the latest celebrity to leave fans absolutely gobsmacked at her near-identical offspring, sharing a stunning snap of her teenage daughter Carys Douglas to Instagram, where the pair’s similarity was on full display.
The 50-year-old movie star shared the snap on Sunday alongside the caption: “My girl in the garden.”
Carys is posing in a stunning floor-length silk gown in white, her long brown hair tricking many a fan into thinking they were looking at a throwback snap of Catherine herself.
Fans blown away by similarity
Fans were quick to comment on the young ladies gorgeous looks, and the unbelievable similarity between the pair.
“I honestly thought that was you @catherinezetajones —spitting image and just as beautiful!” one fan wrote.
“She looks just like you!” another fan agreed.
“Gorgeous like her momma,” one pointed out.
Many were blown away by Carys all grown up, with the daughter of Michael Douglas and Catherine a regular feature alongside her parents and brother Dylan on red carpets as a child.
“Oh my, stunning!” one shocked onlooker wrote.
“They grow up way too fast don’t they?” another observed. “She’s such a beautiful young lady!”
It’s not the first time a celebrity has prompted jaws to plummet with their near-identical offspring.
Reese Witherspoon’s daughter Ava bears a striking likeness to her famous mum, as thousands of fans remarked when the pair uploaded a wild side by side snap.
Similarly, Liz Hurley and son Damian are virtually doppelgangers, as people couldn’t help but comment on when the 18-year-old made his modelling debut in a makeup campaign for celebrity artist Pat McGrath’s brand, Pat McGrath Labs.
