Yahoo Lifestyle Cate Blanchett Praises Emma Watson's UN Speech
There are many reasons to love Cate Blanchett - she's one of Australia's most prized actresses, her red carpet fashion is paramount to none - but, most importantly, she's a huge advocate for social change.
Which is why we were happy to hear her praise Emma Watson's incredible UN speech launching the "HeForShe" campaign, which implores men to join the fight for gender equality.
Speaking to Porter magazine, Blanchett said she thought Watson's heartfelt words were brilliant.
"I was so f**king proud of Emma Watson's speech at the UN. It was brilliant, such an incredible use of her airspace, and really passionate. It was fantastic."
Blanchett, who's made no secret of her support for feminism, said she thought it was important for celebrities to use their star power to help bring change into the world.
"There are a lot of things happening in an international sphere, and there are enough women with enough clout to make those shifts happen," Blanchett explained. "Enough is enough. And I hope the Emma Watson's of this world are going to say, "F**k it"."
