Carrie Bickmore breaks down in touching moment: 'Lost for words'

Carrie Bickmore has broken down on live radio after awarding a lucky listener with a whopping $1 million prize.

The touching moment happened on Thursday afternoon on the Hit Network's Drive show, Carrie and Tommy when Sydney mum Stacey won the $1,000,000 Alphabucks competition.

Stacey blitzed through the 10-question quiz but was worried that her answer for the question, 'Name a Justin Bieber song starting with the letter 'A'' might've been wrong.

As Stacey's answers were checked over, a visibly emotional Carrie asked her how the money would change her life.

With a shaky voice, Stacey explained that her family had outgrown the house that they'd been renting for 16 years.

She added that her dad passed away in his 50s before he was able to see his daughter get married or have her own kids.

Carrie's co-host, Tommy Little threw in a curveball by saying that he wasn't sure the Bieber tune Stacey had mentioned, "All I Want Is You" was right.

"I thought you'd lost," Tommy said. "But then I had a quick look in my Spotify and, damn, it's there."

"Stacey you're a millionaire!" Carrie shouted as confetti spilled from the ceiling and Stacey covered her face in her hands.

"I'm such an ugly crier!" she exclaimed, to which Carrie replied, "Aren't we all."

Indeed, there wasn't a dry eye in the Hit studio as Stacey was handed her oversized cheque for $1,000,000.

Later, Carrie described the moment as one of the most 'amazing' she's ever had in her entire radio career.

"It was incredible, she was so deserving and... I am actually lost for words and that doesn’t happen very often," she said.

"What an honour to be part of literally changing someone’s life... how great," added Tommy.
