Carly Pearce Removes Heckler from Festival Set After 'Disrespect': 'I Do Not Have Time for Dicks'

The country star asked an attendee at WE Fest to "get out of my show" following an apparent comment in the crowd

Carly Pearce is making it clear that "disrespect" is not welcomed at her concerts.

The Grammy-winning country star, 34, briefly paused her set at We Fest in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota on Friday, Aug. 2 to remove an attendee from her performance, before revealing that the attendee was being "mean" and treating her with "disrespect."

In a video shared to X (formerly Twitter) and captured by local radio host Ian Godfrey, Pearce could be seen pointing to a unnamed man in the crowd as she spoke into her microphone. "Somebody get him out of here. I do not want him at my show," Pearce said. "Get out of my show."

The camera then panned to a man being escorted by security, as other crowd members cheered at how Pearce handled the situation. "If you're gonna be an assh---, then you're gonna have to say it to me and get the f--- out of my show," she continued. "I do not have time for dicks. See ya later."

Per several fan-recorded clips on TikTok, Pearce later shared that her father was watching the show and she thought he was going to "have a heart attack" after the call-out. She also revealed what happened to the crowd, adding: “This is the first time I have sent somebody out of one of my shows, but if you’re going to be that mean and disrespect me, you are not welcome."

While it's unclear exactly what the man said to prompt his removal from the show, Godfrey wrote in a follow-up post, citing security, that when Pearce told the crowd she "wanted to tell you all a little about me," the man yelled "no one cares."

Pearce's decision to stand up to her heckler comes as other big names in music, including Adele, Chris Stapleton, Bebe Rexha, Kane Brown and others have called out or removed disruptive audience members from their shows over the past year.

And after her run-in with a rude festival-goer, Pearce is set to bring her show on the road to the non-disruptive fans starting in October, when she kicks off her headlining Hummingbird World Tour.

Announced on Monday, Aug. 5, Pearce's forthcoming run of shows, named after and in support of her fourth LP, will feature a string of fall dates, as well as additional concerts in Europe and elsewhere in the U.S. in both the late winter and spring.

Openers include Karley Scott Collins, Matt Lang, Wade Bowen and Carter Faith, and the North American dates will be available for purchase beginning on Friday, Aug. 9.

Speaking with PEOPLE about the album, released on June 7, Pearce revealed that the material marked "the proudest I’ve been of an album, hands down."

“Hummingbirds are a sign that the healing process can begin, and that good luck is on the way,” Pearce said of the title. “To me, that’s kind of what this whole album was. It was my healing journey, and it was very messy at times. Even in the songs that are sad, there’s this underlying realization that there’s a reason you’re hurting, and it’s for something bigger. I don’t think that was where I was during [previous album] 29."
