Cardi B Slams ‘Prank’ That Sent CPS to Her Home While Hospitalized

Cardi B is the latest celebrity to become the target of a trend that sees government officials descend upon their homes thanks to false information shared by anonymous callers—except, in her case, she wasn't even home at the time.

On Monday evening, the "I Like It" rapper issued a stern warning aimed at the person (or people) responsible for leaving an anonymous "tip" that the musician's three kids–daughter Kulture, son Wave, and a newborn whose name has not yet been released–whom she shares with her ex, Offset, were in danger.

"For the Child Protective Services to come to my f-----g house? Not my house, my gated mansion at 11 p.m. while my children are sleeping because there’s an anonymous call that there been going on that, that my kids have been getting abused and beaten. Are you f-----g dumb?" she asked her followers in an Oct. 21 Instagram Live session as initially transcribed by Page Six, which showed her in a hospital bed wearing a gown and an IV hookup.

"This is when the pranks start getting too far. You f-----g assholes think that s--t is funny and it’s not funny," the 32-year-old added, noting that she's been sick and in the hospital since Saturday but is ready to "sue the person that did this anonymous call."

"I’m gonna get to the bottom of this. I’m gonna hire the best private investigator in the whole f-----g country because y’all take joking and y’all take s--t a little too far," Cardi B emphasized.

Elsewhere, she threatened that, aside from legal action, whoever was responsible would also have to deal with the Grammy winner herself. "I’m gonna find out myself and you know what, you wanna know what I’m gonna do. I’m not even pressing charges on you," she said, later explaining that she, Offset, and her sister, Hennessy, are ready to "beat up" the person who orchestrated this.

"Play with my motherhood or with my ex-husband’s fatherhood," she continued. "We don’t play that s--t. My kids live great. My kids have never been touched, never gotten hit no matter how annoying they are. I never hit my kids."

The "Please Me" singer continued, suggesting that these anonymous claims are both unfounded and false, as both she and Offset "take very great care" of their kids and spare no expense when it comes to their well-being.

"They go to the best school, my daughter f-----g school tuition f-----g fees is $45,000," she added, noting she spends another $700 or so per day for the nanny that helps care for her and Offset's newborn.

"I spend more money on my kids’ bill than I spend money on clothes for myself," she shared. "We take very great care of our kids."

"Not everything is a f-----g joke. Not everything is a f-----g prank," she concluded.

Neither CPS nor Cardi responded to the outlet's request for comment.

As Parade previously reported, several other celebrities–including actors Jennifer Aniston and Chris Pine–have been the target of similar situations involving law enforcement, known as "swatting," in recent weeks.
