Cardi B hospitalized with 'medical emergency,' drops out of One Music Fest in Atlanta

"I'll be back and stronger than ever," the rapper posted on Instagram.

Cardi B fans will have to wait a little longer for the rapper to return to live performing.

The "WAP" artist, who gave birth to her third child last month, was supposed to be a headliner at Atlanta's One Music Fest this weekend but had to drop out a few days ahead of her scheduled performance due to a health issue.

"I am so sad to share this news, but I've been in the hospital recovering from a medical emergency the last couple of days and I won't be able to perform at ONE Music Fest," Cardi wrote on social media.

"It breaks my heart that I won't get to see my fans this weekend and I really wish I could be there," she continued. "Bardi Gang — thank you for understanding and I'll be back better and stronger soon. Don't worry. Love yall."

Cardi did not elaborate on the nature of the medical emergency and her reps did not immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly's request for comment.

Cardi recently discussed the "freak accident" that jeopardized her third pregnancy, a fall in which she "tore a ligament in my pelvis [...] right where my baby's head is at."

"I dilated and I was having contractions for every two minutes for a whole 24 hours," she recalled. "So they had to monitor me and I was in a lot of pain. I couldn't move for two days straight."

One Music Fest reshared Cardi's message on Instagram, with an update of its own, writing, "Unfortunately, @iamcardib announced that she is no longer available to join us this year due to ongoing health issues. Let’s all keep her in our prayers for a full recovery! We are working hard to find a replacement at this late date. More to come soon."

Other headliners of the two-day festival include Earth, Wind & Fire, Nelly, Gunna, Jill Scott, Glorilla, Victoria Monét, and Sexy Red.
