Brigitte Macron Puts Sparkling Spin on Formal Evening Attire for France’s State Dinner for Angola Alongside Husband President Emmanuel Macron

Brigitte Macron brought a touch of sparkle to the state dinner for Angola in Paris on Thursday. France’s first lady was joined by her husband, President Emmanuel Macron, and distinguished guests, President Joao Lourenco and his wife, Ana Afonso Dias Lourenço of Angola, for the couple’s official state visit.

For the special occasion, Brigitte Macron opted for subdued elegance with a touch of shimmering detail. France’s first lady wore a navy gown with a high neckline. Atop the floor-length dress, Macron wore a black coat with a dramatic collar and allover shimmering details.

It’s not uncommon for Macron’s state dinner style to feature a touch of sparkle. In 2022, during President and First Lady Macron’s visit to the United States, Brigitte wore a sleek white gown with additional sparkling elements with embroidery on the neckline and at the waist for a defined silhouette. Such details, as an added element of shimmer, elevate Macron’s wardrobe in her role as the first lady of France. While Macron often favors designs seemingly evocative of Paris couture history, she still finds ways to imbue certain styles with her own unique approach to fashion.
