Brie Larson demonstrates her pole dancing prowess: 'ABS'
Brie Larson has tested out a new way to stay fit: pole dancing.
The Captain Marvel star, 32, shared a series of images on Instagram of her gripping a pole with just one hand and foot in a variety of poses, as well as pulling her body weight up the pole, demonstrating her strength.
"Made an im-POLE-sive decision to try a new workout class," her punny caption reads.
It's safe to say her 7 million followers were impressed.
"ABS", comedian, actor and ex-YouTuber Lilly Singh summed the post up with.
Meanwhile, fans, clearly aware of her commitment to switching things up, said, "Brie what can't you do", "queen of trying new stuff!" and "Amazing. This is such an effective workout!!"
Pole dancing is growing in popularity as a serious workout, known to require a lot of strength in the upper body, something it seems Larson definitely isn't short of.
It works your stomach muscles, abs and lower back muscles to help you move the rest of your body around the pole, including lifting your legs, climbing and holding your weight, improving your coordination and flexibility in the process.
It’s also thought to boost self-esteem and build confidence.

Larson is something of a workout inspiration on social media and last week posted another fitness video, captioned "trying new things..."
She can be seen pulling herself up on a chin-up bar, lifting her legs above her and ticking them in before slowly releasing them down again, working her abs too.
Kerry Washington commented with a string of clapping hand emojis, while fans said "I don't think anyone understands just how impressive this actually is!", "Absolutely killed it" and "Well done Captain".
Her other workout videos feature her "trying to be a row queen", lifting weights, and more intense and creative exercises in the gym.

On her extensive training for her role as a Marvel superhero, which she debuted as in 2019, she told Insider earlier this year, "I started this journey thinking I'll get strong and I had no idea. I went far beyond what I ever believed was possible for my body."
"Being able to hip thrust 400 pounds, deadlift 200 pounds, push my trainer's Jeep, I mean, it's an incredible experience to realise what's inside of you is well beyond what you knew was possible," Larson said. "And I have Carol [Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel] to thank for that."
After appearing in Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame she is due to return for a sequel to the first, The Marvels in February 2023.

This time around, Larson "wanted to focus on new challenges", aware she wasn't necessarily going to break her deadlifting record or hip thrust record.
Demonstrating her focus on upper-body strength, her "main goal" was to be ale to do a one-arm pull-up, which she was able to do on both arms after a few months of practicing. She then set out do a one-arm push up, which of course, she succeeded in.
"I just started to get kind of obsessed with it," said Larson. "When people say , 'Oh, girls can't do that,' it just makes me wanna do it even more. So there were huge accomplishments this time and I just feel like my body's just getting more and more used to this and more and more excited. Now, it feels weird to not train. I look forward to it."
