  • Emily Campeas Arzi went viral when she posted a clip to TikTok of her dad emailing the CEO of Marriott following the cancelation of her hotel block for her 300-person wedding.

  • The hotel block was allegedly canceled because of a "system-wide error."

  • In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Emily and her wedding planner detail how they saved the event following the cancelation.

Just two days before the event of a lifetime, Emily Campeas Arzi discovered the Marriott West Palm Beach had canceled the room block for her destination wedding, leaving her and her 300 guests without a place to stay.

Her father, Dave – a lifetime elite Marriott customer – took swift action, reaching out to the company’s CEO while Emily turned to TikTok.

With over 31 million views and mounting public support, Marriott ultimately stepped in to help relocate Campeas' guests.

In a video update, Dave expressed his gratitude, acknowledging how the online community played a crucial role in the resolution.

“Thanks to the power of social media, the Marriott came through both nationally and locally, and we got our wedding party situated at a different hotel with their help,” Dave said in the video. “We could not have done it without everybody from TikTok, so thank you all so much. And if you ever need a dad to stand up for you, let me know!”

Emily calls her dad the "ultimate protector and problem solver," saying it's just in his nature to solve problems for his family and those closest around him.

"This has felt like the ultimate dad fix situation, and I’m so thankful for the support of TikTok to push this amazing solution forward, and being able to show millions of people just how special Dave is and give them a TikTok dad to save the day," she tells PEOPLE exclusively.

Though Emily's big day came together in the end, the experience of securing accommodations for her large guest list is one she won’t forget.

She and her wedding planner, Lauren Grech from LLG Events, told PEOPLE how it all unfolded and what they’ve taken away from the unexpected challenges.

“When Lauren first called me, my stomach just dropped,” Campeas explains. "Through this entire process, what has been most important to us is that our guests have the best time possible, with no stress and a lot of ease. I wanted them to be on vacation since they had traveled far and wide to come celebrate."

She had reserved 30 rooms per night from February 27th to March 1st, totaling around 90 nights altogether.

“I immediately looked through the client's contract to see what remediations we could ask for. They tried to come to us with a solution, which included moving us to another Marriott property that was nowhere near the wedding venue,” Grech revealed. “I then called the bride and had to tell her about this, which was honestly the worst part.”

According to Grech, the Marriott had a “system-wide error that caused them to oversell the rooms in their hotel that weekend.”

She says, “Approximately six other room blocks were affected, but ours was selected to move to another hotel. They then tried to split our block into two alternative hotels, which was obviously not ideal.”

PEOPLE reached out to Marriott for comment but has yet to receive a response.

Emily says she wanted all of her guests in one place, considering people were traveling in from different places.

“The Marriott was home base for everyone for the weekend, so with the cancellation nobody was going to have a place to stay,” Emily explains. “Thankfully, the Eau Palm Beach came through for us and gave our guests all a place to stay.”

Despite the last-minute challenges, Campeas says the wedding itself — which was held at the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum — was beyond her wildest dreams.

“Thanks to Lauren, the LLG Events team and our vendors, they brought my dream wedding to life, and I am so thankful,” she tells PEOPLE.
