“Boy Meets World” star Trina McGee announces miscarriage after pregnancy at 54: 'Hard to get out of bed'
"We don't have any real reasons why," McGee told Tamron Hall. "I was still so grateful to have the experience of being able to conceive at this age and this time."
After announcing in June that she was pregnant at age 54, Boy Meets World actress Trina McGee revealed that she had a miscarriage earlier this year.
In a special appearance Monday on The Tamron Hall Show, McGee, now 55, told the talk show host that she lost her baby early into her pregnancy.
"You revealed to me that you were no longer pregnant," Hall said at the top of the interview, recalling that McGee told her the story in a phone call the two had prior to McGee joining the morning talk show.
"I did lose the baby. It wasn't expected, it was closer to the end of the first trimester. We don't have any real reasons why. I was still so grateful to have the experience of being able to conceive at this age and this time," McGee said, adding that she went through "a lot of depression" and that "it was hard to get out of bed" following the development.
"There are so many things that come when you really want a family and you want your family to be complete. There are so many dreams that you have. It was hard to face the fact that that's not going to happen at this point in the junction," McGee, who's married to Marcello Thedford, continued.
McGee said she turned to "natural remedies," including going to a holistic healer, to help her get pregnant at 54, and that she and Thedford had fun trying to expand their family, which already includes three children McGee shares with her first husband, Courtland Davis.

When Hall pointed out that many people choose to wait until later into their pregnancies to announce the news, McGee admitted that she was simply "so excited" to share the news that she didn't want to wait.
"There were so many women who, even at 55 and older, still want to get pregnant or don't want to be boxed into this 'geriatric pregnancy' thing," McGee responded. "I don't know if I'm here to give advice for everybody, because everybody's body is different, and you should listen to your doctors."

"Part of me doesn't ever want to go through this again," she said. "The conclusion I came to is, we'll just keep loving each other, if something happens that way, fine, but I don't want to put another anxiety on myself. Sometimes it really is better to let go and let God."
McGee is best known for her role as Angela Moore on the beloved sitcom Boy Meets World. Her character was one of the love interests of actor Rider Strong's Shawn, with Angela also filling the role of best friend to Danielle Fishel's Topanga.
