Blake Lively's Reaction to Ryan Reynolds' 'SNL50' Joke Divides Fans

Ryan Reynolds got a huge laugh from the audience at Saturday Night Live's 50th anniversary special when he poked fun at the current controversy surrounding his wife, Blake Lively, and her former co-star and director, Justin Baldoni—but now fans are noticing that Lively didn't seem as amused as everybody else.

During the live broadcast—which was the first time Reynolds and Lively made a public appearance together since Lively sued Baldoni at the end of last year—Amy Poehler called on Reynolds during a segment involving Poehler and Tina Fey taking audience questions.

"Great," he answered, sounding unsure. "Why, what have you heard?"

After the moment went viral, fans on social media started commenting on Lively's reaction to her husband's joke. On Reddit, one person posted a pic which captured the It Ends With Us star's less-than-happy expression, writing, "blake’s face after he said that is killing me!!!"

"I didn’t notice it the first time but when I rewound to watch with my husband I noticed her and she looked displeased and concerned 😂," a second viewer pointed out.

"If you play it from the beginning and just watch her the whole time, she’s legit panicking lmao," agreed someone else, with another Reddit user saying Lively "is walking on eggshells… I don’t think Ryan fears for his career’s future but she sure as hell does."

Other people disagreed, however, arguing that Lively was just playing along.

"She was in on it," one commenter wrote, adding, "This is part of PR to seen funny and relatable, and like she's in on the joke and can laugh about it. She was not actually displeased or concerned. It's a planned bit. They rehearsed it. The show is live, not unscripted. He didn't just raise his hand and ask a question on a live show, lol."

"She just did some of the best acting of her life if you thought that was organic," somebody joked, with another person agreeing that "it’s a prepared scripted joke they are both in on. She’s no doubt really nervous but is acting too."
