Blake Lively Thanks Ryan Reynolds for 'Millennial Girl' Jokes in “Deadpool & Wolverine: ”'Never Been More Proud'

"It's hard not to encourage my ladies to spot all the ways we've influenced @deadpoolmovie," the actress wrote in celebration of her husband's new film

Blake Lively is a proud Y2K girl!

On Monday, July 22, the 36-year-old actress paid homage to husband Ryan Reynolds and his new movie Deadpool & Wolverine for its inclusion of shout-outs for "millennial girls."

"Tell me Deadpool's married to a millennial girl in real life without telling me ... " Lively said in a video posted to her Instagram Stories, following the clip of herself with a montage from the upcoming superhero comedy that proved her point.

Among the references in the new film are Avril Lavigne's song "I'm with You," nods to Harry Potter and Frozen, Céline Dion, *NSYNC, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and more, per her post.

"Find you a man who honors you like this boy," Lively wrote on her Instagram Stories post, adding a clever nod to the "I love you" beeper code of the 1990s and early 200s: "143 to all my Y2K girlies."

The Gossip Girl alum kept the nostalgia going on a follow-up post to her Stories, including a photo of herself and Reynolds, 47, kissing on the set of his new movie, where he is in full Deadpool makeup.

"You can't say I was lying when I said, 'It's what's on the inside that matters,' " Lively joked, referencing her husband's disfiguring makeup, while *NSYNC's late-'90s ballad "(God Must Have Spent) a Little More Time on You" played over the post.

"Til death (or wade wilson) do us part ... " she added.

Lively shared both posts to her Instagram grid as well, joking that while she "should be competitive" at the box office with Reynolds due to her movie It Ends with Us coming out soon, she can't help but champion Deadpool & Wolverine for its commitment to the millennial-girl time period.

"It’s hard not to encourage my ladies to spot all the ways we’ve influenced @deadpoolmovie I’ve never been more proud. And I’ve given birth 4 times. 🤣❤️💛," she wrote.

Reynolds and costar Hugh Jackman recently opened up about a certain pop-culture moment in the upcoming movie, admitting they had to jump through some high-stakes hoops to get permission to use Madonna's 1989 hit "Like A Prayer."

"It was a big deal to ask for it and certainly a bigger deal to use it," Reynolds recalled in an interview with Andy Cohen on SiriusXM Friday, July 19. "We went over and met with her and and sort of showed her how it was being used, and where, and why."

Reynolds also said that not only did Madonna agree to let them use the track (and it helped that her son was a fan of the first two Deadpool films), she also offered them notes on the scene where it would be used.

"She gave a great note," he said. "She watched it, and I'm not kidding, [she said], 'You need to do this.' And damn it, if she wasn't like spot on."

Deadpool & Wolverine is in theaters Friday, July 26.
