Blackpink’s Jennie Goes Electric Blue in Alaïa Minidress on Met Gala 2024 Red Carpet
Jennie of the K-pop supergroup Blackpink returned to the Met Gala red carpet on Monday in New York City. The singer wore a custom Alaïa minidress in electric blue.
Jennie’s ensemble was crafted of a vibrant ruched fabric that wrapped around her body, creating a cutout silhouette. The top transitioned into a cape that dropped down to the floor turning into a train. For added shine, she wore a pearl-embellished belt and completed the look with matching blue heels.

The dress was inspired by Alaïa’s fall 2024 collection, which was created using a single merino yarn. “They [the dresses] were also minimal, womanly, and very Alaïa, exalting feminine curves without resorting to cling. In fact, most of the clothes were built on circular shapes, from the looped fringe confections that opened the display to the sexy evening gowns that coiled over the bust and stomach like an expertly peeled orange,” WWD previously reported.
An ambassador for Calvin Klein and Chanel, Jennie debuted on the Met Gala red carpet in 2023 when she wore a vintage Chanel dress to honor the fashion house’s late creative director Karl Lagerfeld.
