Bindi Irwin has surprised fans after sharing an exciting new career move on social media, with the Wildlife Warrior announced as the new voice behind a Bluey audiobook.

The 25-year-old has narrated The Creek for the Bluey Book Reads series, with fans sharing their excitement, saying it's the "crossover we needed".

"Love you Bluey and Bingo! 💙🧡," Bindi wrote in the comments, while her mum Terri Irwin added, "This is so special!"

Others begged Bindi to join the show after her brother Robert Irwin appeared as Alfie, a dingo who works as a customer service assistant at a toy store.

Bindi celebrates Steve's birthday

It comes after Bindi paid tribute to her father Steve Irwin on what would have been his 62nd birthday, with the mum-of-one sharing several snaps of her dad throughout the years.

"Happy Birthday, Dad," she wrote. "Your legacy will live on forever."

Terri responded, "Steve’s love for you will live on forever too."
