In a new CBS Sunday Morning interview, six-time Grammy nominee Billie Eilish talked about her body image and how it has affected her sense of style.

"Me and my body's relationship has been the most toxic relationship you could even imagine," Eilish said to Gayle King. "The way that I've dressed has made that relationship so much better."

The 17-year-old singer went on to explain why she prefers wearing looser-fitting clothes.

"It's less about, ‘My body is ugly, I don't want you to see it,’" she said. "It's more like, ‘I'm not comfortable wearing this. I'm comfortable wearing this.’ And I don't mean, like, physically, literally, feels soft. I mean, like, your mental comfort."

Eilish also talked about the perception that her music is ‘dark’ or ‘sad,’ adding that those descriptors aren't the way her loved ones see her.

"Nobody that knows me thinks I'm a dark person. My God. I'm, like, always laughing at everything," Eilish told King, who asked if the singer considers herself a ‘dark person’.

The ‘Bad Guy’ singer has been open about depression in the past, talking about her experience with self-harm during a panel at the Grammy Museum in September. She’s in a better place now, though, saying at the time that "the last two months of my life, right now, have been the happiest places I’ve ever been in," Variety reported.

In CBS's new report, Eilish's mum, Maggie, also talked about her daughter's clinical depression.

"The depression was the hardest part of all this. We checked in with her all the time about, 'Do you still want to do this? Do you want to do this?'" her mum said to CBS. "She loved doing the shows. That's what kept her going."
