Billie Eilish Reacts to Rihanna Naming Her as a Dream Collab: “She’s the Greatest of All Time”

Aside from solidifying their slots as fashion-forward pop culture icons, Billie Eilish and Rihanna have another major connector. Earlier this year, Rih gushed about Billie and declared she was her "dream" music collaborator.

"She is the most 'anti,' coolest girl ever," she told Access Hollywood of the "Birds of a Feather" hitmaker. "In my mind, she doesn't listen to commercial music. I feel like she’s just creating her diary vocally. You can feel like she's just zoned into who she is and what she's experiencing and what she's feeling."

Months later, Billie reacted to Rih's compliments during her cover story interview with Complex, admitting she'd be down to create musical magic with the Fenty Beauty founder. "I literally thought it was AI, first of all. I've never met Rihanna. She's literally my idol. She's the greatest of all time. She's my complete dream collab," Billie revealed.

She continued, "I don't even answer that question when people are like, 'Who would you like to collab with?' But I always think Rihanna. I'm not going to say that, though! Why would I say that?! It's not real. I would think, like, 'She probably doesn't even like me.'"

The Grammy winner also said that she never thought of the possibility of teaming up with Rihanna in the studio because she's "never had any interaction with her."

"Then she said, 'If only I could work with Billie.' I was like, 'Well, bitch, I've been sitting here this whole time!'" Billie added, insinuating that a collab could definitely be in the cards. "What do you mean, 'If only'?! It's, like, as if I've been saying, 'No.' Rihanna! Riri!? I'll literally do anything you want. That's insane."

Aside from her sweet fangirl moment, the HIT ME HARD AND SOFT artist opened up about her experience setting boundaries in the industryspecifically, in how she presents herself through her fashion choices and performances.

"I look at artists now and see their fashion choices and the way that they perform and the music that people are making, I see it. I feel grateful that I got to help make the steps to that a lot easier and shorter," Billie shared before giving Rihanna a shoutout for inspiring her to do the same. "And I thank all the women that came before me, like Avril Lavigne and Rihanna...that made it easier for me to be the female artist that I am."

When Miss Fenty finally releases her highly anticipated music project (yes, we're still manifesting eight years after the release of Anti), we hope to see Billie by her side on one of its tracks.
