Biker convoy delivers festive cheer

About 1,500 bikers, many in festive outfits, have joined a convoy through parts of Berkshire to deliver children's presents.

Organised by Reading Christian Motorcyclists, the Reading Toy Run sees riders take gifts of toys to children's charity Barnardo's.

The group set off from Thames Valley Science Park in Shinfield at about 13:00 GMT.

Thousands of spectators braved the wet weather to see the spectacle and to cheer and wave.

The first Reading Toy Run in 1985 saw 18 motorcyclists take part, delivering gifts to children at the Battle Hospital.

This year's route took the procession through Winnersh to Wokingham via the A327, Lower Earley Way, Showcase roundabout, Reading Road and Rectory Road to Wiltshire Road.

Road closures were in place until 14:30.
